In The Sun Remake

What we did when filming to make it easier to edit:

  • To allow the actors to lip sync effectively, we played the music from the original song, to make it easier for them and in turn would make it easier to line up the video and the audio when editing.
  • When filming the dance scenes, the music was also played as this made it easier for the dancers to stay in time.
  • Also when filming the dance scene the dancers performed the whole sequence, so when editing it would be easier to keep continuity.
  • When filming we filmed each shot several times, so when editing the best one could be picked. Because if we only filmed each shot once then when it came to editing some shots may not be what we wanted them to be.
What we did when filming to make it harder to edit:
  • Some shots had some problems with them, such as actors heads being cut off. This meant that when editing either a different shot had to be used, or we had to cut down the original shot down.
  • Some of the lip syncing by the actors was not exaggerated enough so when editing it was hard to link up the video and the audio together.
  • Some of the dance moves, especially in the corridor scene, were not quick enough compared to the original, so when editing we had problems with this.
  • Not all of the shots from the original music video were filmed, so when editing we had to re-use shots that looked similar to the ones we had missed out.
WWW:
  • Most of our remake was the same as the original music video.
  • Most of the shots ran for the same time length as the original, making it easy when editing.
  • The tripod and fig-rig were used effectively the majority of the time, producing steady and professional looking shots.
  • Dancers were in time and with together for the majority.
EBI:
  • The lip syncing was not exaggerated enough, so was hard to link up with the audio when editing.
  • Some of the shots had problems with them, such as heads being cut off, making them look unprofessional.
  • Problems could be overcome by taking time to understand the shots that you were filming/directing, so that time isn't wasted and to ensure the shots are to the highest possible standard.
  • Make sure you understand the dance moves well as it would have also made it easier to get the filming done more efficiently.
